It's political season. Ricardo Montinola (Vic Vargas) is running for Governor and is hot on the campaign trail. Mando Guevarra (Fernando Poe, Jr.) a dock hand at the pier is Ricardo's bestfriend. As a good friend, Mando works hard to get fid his friend Ricardo elected. He gives his all and does everything to ensure the win. Ricardo wins and becomes Governor. Prior to Ricardo's getting elected as Governor, Ricardo accidentally killed his girlfriend. As usual, he runs to Mando for help, which the latter wholeheartedly gives. An ironic twist in the events, however, leads to Mando being charges with the murder of the girl and is incarcerated in jail. Inside the prison, Mando is battled by several attemps to kill him. Although unaware that Ricardo is behind the sinister plan, he survives the attempts on his life. It doesn't take long for Mando to learn the truth, as his godson, Francis (Robert Ortega), son of Ricardo, reveals what he heard to his godfather and told him that his father's cohorts wants him dead. On his way home from his visits with Mando, he (Francis) is killed in an accident. Mando, on the other hand, bolts jail and manages to come up with a witness. (Baldemor) who is willing to testify against Ricardo. Baldemor leads him to his close friend. In the heat of their battle, Mando kills Ricardo.
